Having started sailing at the age of seven, Paul Cayard has become one of the best known American sailors of his time. He is a long-time advisor to the Foundation and was influenced by early support and training from programs such as those supported by the Foundation. A seven-time world champion, two-time Olympian, Round the World race winner, and veteran of six Americas Cups, Paul is also the CEO of Artemis Racing, Challenger of Record for the 34th America’s Cup.
He was one of the first 15 sailing greats inducted into the National Sailing Hall of Fame in October, 2011. Other accolades include election to the Sailing World Hall of Fame in 2002 and Rolex Yachtsman of the Year in 1998. The Star World Championship in 1988 is Paul’s most treasured prize.
